Scent and character

Anatolian sage burns with a warm, dry, herbal smoke. The obsidian is deep black volcanic glass, smooth and cool in the hand, and the pearl seashell has a soft, iridescent inner surface — three textures that look beautiful together on a shelf or small altar.

In tradition

Sage is one of the oldest herbs traditionally used in smoke cleansing rituals. In crystal lore, obsidian is traditionally associated with the root chakra and with grounding. The name of the set reflects an intention rather than a promise: many people use it to mark a new home, a new job or a fresh start, and to set aside a quiet moment for themselves.

How to use

• Place the pearl seashell on a heat-proof surface.
• Light the tip of the sage, let it catch, then gently blow out the flame so it smolders.
• Rest the smoldering sage in the seashell and let the smoke drift through the room.
• Hold the obsidian in your hand or place it beside the shell as a focal point for your intention.

Burn in a well-ventilated room on a heat-proof surface. Never leave burning incense or charcoal unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. If you are sensitive to smoke, use sparingly. Not recommended for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
