Everything for a traditional bakhoor ritual in one box: traditional frankincense bark bakhoor, an Anatolian sage stick, a ceramic holder, charcoal and incense sand.
Scent and character
Bakhoor is a classic fragrant blend of resins and aromatic woods, and on charcoal it gives a warm, woody, resinous scent that fills the room with a rich, welcoming fragrance. The Anatolian sage stick adds a dry, herbal contrast.
In tradition
Bakhoor has been used for centuries in Middle Eastern and South Asian traditions. It is burned to mark gatherings and celebrations, accompany meditation and prayer, and scent the home. Sage is traditionally used in smoke cleansing rituals, and many people burn it before the bakhoor to begin the ritual. We share this as culture; many people simply love bakhoor as part of an evening wind-down.

How to use
- Open a window or door to ventilate the room.
- Fill the ceramic holder with incense sand to insulate the heat.
- Hold a charcoal piece with tongs or tweezers, light it and set it on the sand.
- Once the charcoal turns white-hot, place a small piece of bakhoor on top.
- Use the Anatolian sage stick before or after, as you prefer.
Burn in a well-ventilated room on a heat-proof surface. Never leave burning incense or charcoal unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. If you are sensitive to smoke, use sparingly. Use tongs; charcoal stays hot long after the smoke fades. Not recommended for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
