A gentle ritual set for quiet evenings, hand-packed in our atelier in Anatolia. It pairs a box of lavender buds with an Anatolian sage stick and includes the ceramic holder, charcoal and incense sand you need to burn them.
Scent and character
Warmed on charcoal, lavender buds release a soft, sweet floral aroma that makes a room feel calm and unhurried. Anatolian sage brings a drier, greener note, a pleasant contrast when you want the ritual to begin or end with something more herbal.
In tradition
Lavender has been cherished in ritual practice for centuries; old herbal lore sometimes calls it an angelic herb and associates it with peace, comfort and love. Sage is traditionally used in smoke cleansing rituals in many cultures. How to use
- Open a window or door to ventilate the room.
- Place the incense sand in the ceramic holder.
- Light a charcoal piece, holding it with tongs, set it on the sand and wait until it turns red-hot.
- Sprinkle a small amount of lavender buds onto the charcoal.
- Enjoy the soft, floral aroma as it fills the room.
Burn in a well-ventilated room on a heat-proof surface. Never leave burning incense or charcoal unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. If you are sensitive to smoke, use sparingly. Use tongs; charcoal stays hot long after the smoke fades. Not recommended for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
