- Never leave a burning candle, incense or palo santo unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire.
- Burn on a heat-resistant holder or plate that catches ash and embers, in a room with some fresh air.
- Loose incense and resins burn on charcoal: set the charcoal on a layer of sand in a heat-resistant bowl and handle it with tongs. Charcoal and holders stay hot long after the smoke fades, so let them cool completely before touching or emptying.
- If you have asthma or are sensitive to smoke, use incense and palo santo with care, in a well-ventilated space.
- Candles: trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each lighting. On the first burn, let a candle burn about one hour for every inch of its diameter, and never more than four hours at a time.
- Store incense, herbs and resins sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight so the scent lasts.
- Stones: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Each stone is unique in color and pattern.

Description
Sodalite Crystal — deep blue marbled stone
Sodalite is a tectosilicate mineral rich in sodium and aluminum. Its deep blue color is crossed with white and gray veins, so every piece is one of a kind in size, shape and pattern.
Look and feel
The marbled patterns of white and gray against deep blue make sodalite a calm, striking stone for a desk or reading corner. With a hardness of 5.5–6 on the Mohs scale it is fairly durable, but handle it with care and avoid prolonged contact with water.
In tradition
Sodalite has long been associated with wisdom and reflection, and the Greeks and Romans are traditionally said to have valued it as a stone of logic for scholars and philosophers. In crystal lore it is known as the stone of rational thought and intuition, traditionally associated with the third eye chakra (Ajna), with insight, patience and calm. In astrological tradition it is linked with Sagittarius, Pisces and Virgo. Many people keep it nearby during study, journaling or quiet reflection.
