Product care
  • Never leave a burning candle, incense or palo santo unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire.
  • Burn on a heat-resistant holder or plate that catches ash and embers, in a room with some fresh air.
  • Loose incense and resins burn on charcoal: set the charcoal on a layer of sand in a heat-resistant bowl and handle it with tongs. Charcoal and holders stay hot long after the smoke fades, so let them cool completely before touching or emptying.
  • If you have asthma or are sensitive to smoke, use incense and palo santo with care, in a well-ventilated space.
  • Candles: trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each lighting. On the first burn, let a candle burn about one hour for every inch of its diameter, and never more than four hours at a time.
  • Store incense, herbs and resins sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight so the scent lasts.
  • Stones: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Each stone is unique in color and pattern.

Description

The Mushroom House Backflow Burner is a beautifully carved stone piece designed to anchor your space and elevate the visual aspect of your incense ritual. When paired with a backflow incense cone, this whimsical yet earthy burner transforms cascading smoke into a flowing stream that pools around the miniature stone cottage, creating a captivating and deeply meditative display.

The Ritual of Smoke and Stone

Incense is not only about fragrance; it is a multi-sensory experience that invites both the body and the mind to settle. A backflow burner enhances this practice by adding a visual rhythm to your routine. As the dense smoke descends, it mimics the gentle flow of a waterfall or the quiet settling of morning mist in a forest. Watching the smoke trail down the carved steps and curl around the mushroom house provides a restful focal point for the mind, gently encouraging a state of mindfulness and deep relaxation. The stone vessel safely catches the falling ash and pooling smoke, allowing you to remain fully present in the experience without concern for your surrounding surfaces.

Authentic Stone Craftsmanship

Carved from genuine stone, this burner brings an inherently grounding element to your altar, bedside, or meditation space. Stone is tactile and enduring, offering a cool, solid weight that contrasts beautifully with the ethereal, shifting nature of the smoke. The porosity and thermal properties of the stone also help to stabilise the burner as the cone burns down. The Mushroom House design pays homage to the quiet, hidden sanctuaries of the natural world—those mythical dwellings nestled at the roots of ancient trees. Because each piece is carved from stone, subtle variations in the texture, mineral patterns, and colour ensure that your burner is entirely unique, carrying its own quiet character and organic beauty.

Creating Your Visual Sanctuary

To use, simply place a backflow incense cone on the top platform of the mushroom house. Light the tip of the cone, allow the flame to take hold for a few seconds, and then gently blow it out. The specially designed backflow cone will then release its smoke from the base, sending the fragrant cascade flowing down the carved pathways and pooling at the foundation of the stone cottage. Whether placed in a dedicated meditation room, on a reading desk, or in a quiet corner of your living space, this stone burner serves as a gentle, grounding reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the simple beauty of the present moment.
