Coral Stone — natural organic gem from the sea
Unlike most gemstones, coral is organic: it forms from the skeletal remains of marine coral polyps. Each piece is natural and unique in color, size and shape, and red coral is the most sought-after variety.
Look and feel
Our coral ranges from deep red to orange and pale pink. It is softer than most gemstones, 3–4 on the Mohs scale, so handle it with care. Its ocean origin has long made it a symbol of fluidity and adaptability.
In tradition
Coral has been used in jewelry and amulets for thousands of years, especially in Mediterranean and Eastern cultures, where it was carried by travelers and set into Greek and Roman talismans. In Tibetan and Indian traditions, red coral is associated with courage and willpower. In crystal lore it is traditionally associated with the throat chakra (Vishuddha) and open communication, and with the solar plexus chakra (Manipura) and confidence.
