Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever. Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.

Product care

Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum and rightly so, as it will always have a place in the web workers toolbox, as things happen, not always the way you like it, not always in the preferred order.

Description

Nazar (Evil Eye) Botanical Incense Blend — sage, frankincense and peganum

Our Nazar blend is a loose botanical incense made the way it has long been made in Anatolian homes: Anatolian sage, frankincense and peganum, mixed and hand-packed in our atelier in Anatolia. You burn a small pinch at a time on charcoal.

Scent and character

The first thing you notice is the frankincense — resinous and bright. Anatolian sage follows with a dry, herbal warmth, and peganum settles underneath with a smoky, earthy depth. It is a full, old-fashioned scent, closer to a village kitchen at dusk than to a perfume counter.

In tradition

In Anatolian folk tradition, this blend is burned when a family moves into a new home, marks a new chapter or simply wants to bless the house. Peganum (harmal) has been burned for generations in evil eye customs across Anatolia and the Middle East, and the nazar itself remains one of the region’s best-loved symbols. We share this as culture, not as a promise; many people light it to mark a quiet moment, set an intention or close the day.

What’s inside

  • Anatolian sage
  • Frankincense
  • Peganum (harmal)
  • Loose blend; incense charcoal and a heat-resistant bowl are needed to burn it

How to use

  • Place a heat-resistant bowl (ceramic or copper) on a stable surface.
  • Light a piece of incense charcoal, holding it with tongs, and let it turn red-hot.
  • Sprinkle a small amount of the Nazar blend onto the charcoal.
  • Let the fragrant smoke fill the room as you set your intention, and keep the room well ventilated.

Burn in a well-ventilated room on a heat-proof surface. Never leave burning incense or charcoal unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. If you are sensitive to smoke, use sparingly. Use tongs; charcoal stays hot long after the smoke fades. Not recommended for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions. Not packaged for food use.
