Product care
  • Never leave a burning candle, incense or palo santo unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and anything that can catch fire.
  • Burn on a heat-resistant holder or plate that catches ash and embers, in a room with some fresh air.
  • Loose incense and resins burn on charcoal: set the charcoal on a layer of sand in a heat-resistant bowl and handle it with tongs. Charcoal and holders stay hot long after the smoke fades, so let them cool completely before touching or emptying.
  • If you have asthma or are sensitive to smoke, use incense and palo santo with care, in a well-ventilated space.
  • Candles: trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each lighting. On the first burn, let a candle burn about one hour for every inch of its diameter, and never more than four hours at a time.
  • Store incense, herbs and resins sealed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight so the scent lasts.
  • Stones: wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Each stone is unique in color and pattern.

Our products are made for ritual and atmosphere. They are not a substitute for medical care.

Description

Natural Beeswax Candle — large candle

This hand-rolled beeswax candle gives a warm, golden glow and a gentle, naturally sweet honey scent, with no added perfume. It is lovely for a quiet evening, a reading corner or a simple table setting.

What’s inside

  • One beeswax candle, 3.9 x 5.9 in (10 x 15 cm)

Material

  • 100% pure beeswax
  • Cotton wick
  • No paraffin, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances
  • With the wick trimmed, beeswax candles drip and smoke very little

In tradition

Beeswax is made by young worker bees as they build their honeycomb, and it has been valued for candlemaking across many cultures. Lighting a beeswax candle is a small nod to the work of the bees and to a very old tradition.

How to use and care

  • Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each lighting.
  • On the first use, let the candle burn about one hour for every inch of its diameter (never more than four hours at a time), so the wax melts almost to the edge and does not tunnel.
  • Use a candle snuffer rather than blowing out the flame, to reduce smoke.
  • Keep away from drafts for an even burn.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Place the candle in a heat-resistant holder on a stable surface, away from drafts and anything that can catch fire. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it away from children and pets.
