Ceramic Backflow Incense Holder — minimalist glazed ceramic cascade
Backflow cones have a hollow center. When lit, the smoke travels down through that tunnel, is cooled by the holder and flows out in heavy, mist-like streams instead of rising. This holder is shaped to show that effect at its best.
Design and material
Each holder is shaped from durable ceramic and finished with a smooth glaze. The minimalist design suits an altar as easily as a living room shelf. Because it is handcrafted, subtle variations in color and texture make each piece a little different.

How to use
- Place the holder on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts.
- Light the tip of a backflow cone until it glows, then gently blow out the flame.
- Set the cone on the hole on top; the smoke begins to flow downward within a moment.
- Let the cone burn out and the holder cool before handling. Wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth.
Place on a heat-proof, stable surface away from anything that can catch fire. Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep it away from children and pets. The holder may get hot during use.
